A/V utilities have had a long history of creating little, quirky problems (not just Kaspersky) so to assume just because you have not had problems previously doesn't mean you don't have one now.
Just keep in mind that when diagnosing any problem like this, when you cherry-pick what things to try or ignore, you might find a solution but you do reduce possibilities. Emphasis on 'could' since it's still not definitive this is the source of your problem. this creates a situation where all it takes is a minor change in the Kaspersky utility conflicting with a minor change in Windows that could be the source of your problem. A typical A/V utility also needs to integrate itself pretty deeply into the operating system so the interactions between the two take place at a base level. Both the Kaspersky utility and the Windows OS are actively developed and updated/upgraded so it's always been and will continue to be a constantly changing interaction between the two. Simply because you didn't have a problem with Kaspersky for ten years or so doesn't mean you can't be having a problem with it now. I have followed How to fix error code 45? I have also used every troubleshooter offered on planet earth and it finds nothing wrong. WIFI works fine but i really like ethernet better.
When i go to the "Change Adapter settings " by going to "Network & sharing" only my WiFi adapter is listed, i used to have like 5 separate network adapters listed including my ethernet adapter. I have even " RESET " this PC although i hit the "Keep my files" option and STILL no sign of ethernet. I have run SFC/SCANNOW and CHKDSK multiple times to no avail it says everything's fine.
Double clicking it gives me the below ( See info in quotes) The ethernet only shows when i click on "Show hidden devices" in device manager it never shows if i just download and install the ethernet driver from the Dell website.ĭevice manager shows it's name to be ( Intel ethernet connection (2)1219-V). Hello everybody, i have a dell XPS 8900 and have had ethernet all during Win 7 but it disappeared with Win 10 and i have tried all the troubleshooting info like rolling back the driver, uninstalling and re installing the driver, i tried all the netsh commands and ipconfig commands, in device manager i have to always click on the "Values" option to show hidden devices even though in "File Explorer options" under "View" i have that "Show hidden files and folders " option checked.
